PROLOGUE – THE WHISPER OF DESTINY

The first drops of rain hit the hot asphalt of Seoul. The air, thick with humidity and mystery, carried the weight of something ancient… something that had remained buried in time.

Evangelina didn’t know it yet, but that night would change her life forever.

She walked along the sidewalk of the cultural district, the streetlights reflecting off the newly formed puddles. The city was her home, but sometimes she felt like a stranger in her own life.

The museum was her refuge, a world of dead languages and forgotten objects. Restoring ancient manuscripts gave her purpose, but it also made her feel like she was searching for something. Something she didn’t know how to name.

That night, a new expedition had just arrived.

As she crossed the museum’s entrance, a shiver ran down her spine.

It wasn’t just the sudden temperature change.

It was a feeling… of déjà vu.

As if she had lived this exact moment before.

As if someone had been waiting for her.

CHAPTER 1 – THE ENCOUNTER WITH THE FORBIDDEN

The display cases gleamed under the dim museum lighting. The sound of her heels echoed on the marble floor as she headed toward the restoration room.

A package sat on her desk. A black-lacquered box, with no sender.

She frowned. This wasn’t in the records.

—Where did you come from…? —she whispered, running her fingers over its surface.

Upon opening it, a scent of aged wood and dry ink filled the air.

Inside, wrapped in a silk cloth, was a black leather manuscript, worn by time. Her skin prickled as she noticed the symbols on the cover, engraved with unsettling precision.

She didn’t recognize the language at first glance. But something inside her did recognize it.

An echo in her mind.

A distant whisper.

Before she could process it, the light flickered.

The air grew dense, as if the room had suddenly closed in on itself.

And in the absolute silence, a faint murmur caressed her ear.

—You’ve found me.

Evangelina held her breath.

Her heart pounded wildly against her chest.

She turned sharply, but no one was there.

Only shadows.

And deep within her, a feeling she couldn’t ignore:

This wasn’t the first time she had heard that voice.

  2. The writing evokes a strong sense of mystery, blending history, the supernatural, and a touch of destiny. The slow build-up of tension, from the rain-soaked streets to the whispered voice, is captivating. Evangelina’s intrigue feels real, and the story already hints at something deeper beneath the surface. It’s a compelling start that makes me want to read more!
