CHAPTER 11 – THE KISS OF DESTINY
The elevator no longer existed.
Time had frozen in a single moment where only the two of them were real.
The air between them was suffocating, charged with an impossible heat. Evangelina could feel the cold metal behind her back, yet her entire body burned from Raviel’s proximity.
His gaze held her captive in a golden abyss.
There was no escape. She didn’t want one.
—Do you want to see where we know each other from? —his voice was an echo of something ancient, of a forgotten vow.
Evangelina could barely breathe.
Her instincts begged her to say no, but her lips refused to lie to him.
—Yes… —her voice was barely a whisper.
There was something deeper in his eyes.
Something dangerous.
Something inevitable.
—Touch me, and you will see.
His voice brushed against her skin like an invisible caress.
But when Evangelina hesitantly tried to lift her hand, Raviel caught her in a slow, devastating movement.
He entwined his fingers with hers, and a shiver ran down her spine as she felt his skin against hers. It was fire and ice, a curse disguised as a caress.
The elevator flickered. The universe held its breath.
—That is not enough.
Evangelina looked at him in confusion.
—To see what we were… —his voice dropped to a whisper that made her shiver— you must kiss me.
Her mind spiraled into chaos.
—A… kiss? —her voice trembled.
Raviel leaned in even more, his lips mere inches from hers.
—Yes.
The air vanished from her lungs.
The world ceased to exist.
Their lips were about to touch. Her body surrendered, her soul screamed…
🔥 Everything exploded into light. 🔥
It was not an ordinary kiss.
It was a fall into the abyss.
It was a gateway between worlds.
Her mind shattered into a thousand pieces as the past surged forward like an overflowing river.
🔥 The echo of an ancient oath…
🔥 A promise made amidst fire and eternity…
🔥 Their souls intertwined long before their bodies existed…
She saw it all.
She felt what she was never meant to forget.
And when her consciousness returned to the present, her lips still burned…
But not in the elevator.
In another time, another place… where she and Raviel had already belonged to each other.
